1954 Royal Enfield 500 Twin in KEON PARK, Victoria for sale

The first model of RE twins.
Lovely unique, original old girl (Gertie); I have done, and had done, a lot to this bike since I brought it 7 years ago – too many to list, you name it and it’s been replaced. Also too many spare parts to list. Runs really well; has a slight flat spot off idle, but I have re-sleeved the carb and that’s normal for old Amals. Also comes with aftermarket carb if you want to throw it on.
I’m told by Enfield Club members that there are only several of these models known in Australia. If this model had been in a classic movie it’d be worth a lot more. I have chosen not to go pristine during the rebuild, I prefer authentic patina – the tank is the original paint job for example.
Several parts such as rear guard and stays are from India (same as original parts) – 98% original, the rest has been sourced from UK where required.
This bike was on full Reg. until club Reg. was introduced. Call for more info. Would like to see it go to a discerning owner.
